Foveo — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

Foveo is a browser extension that helps people read more easily by emphasizing the start of each word and dimming the remainder. This policy explains how Foveo handles your information. In short: Foveo does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. Everything it does happens locally, inside your browser.

Data we collect

None. Foveo does not send any information to us or to any third party. We have no servers, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

Data stored on your device

Foveo saves your preferences — such as fixation intensity, remainder opacity, and whether Foveo is enabled globally or for specific sites — using your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device and is used only to remember your settings between page loads and sessions. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension.

Page content

To apply its reading style, Foveo reads the text of the pages you view and restyles it directly in your browser. This text is processed locally and in real time. It is never stored, logged, copied, or transmitted anywhere.

Permissions

Voluntary tips

Foveo is free. If you choose to leave a tip, you'll be taken to an external payment page operated by a third-party payment provider. Any payment information you enter there is handled by that provider under its own privacy policy — Foveo does not receive, see, or store your payment details.

Third parties

Foveo does not share, sell, or transfer any user data to third parties, and does not use any data for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending purposes.

Children

Foveo does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
